ABOUT KRIPA AND THE SHOP

The Kripa Shop aims to be a regenerative hub that honors everyone involved, including the patrons, artists, cultures, laborers, supply chains, Earth, and the people Kripa are in direct service to. In this way we move beyond “ethical capitalism” and towards an embodiment of Sacred Community.

FAIR SHARE
We believe everyone should be fairly compensated for their work. For this reason we only use companies with the highest ethical standards and transparency about their supply chains, materials, and labor. For collaborative projects/products, the artists receive 40% of all profits from their pieces sold. The other 40% goes directly to support Kripa’s service work. Beverly, the store manager, receives 20% for running the shop and fulfilling orders.

EQUITABLE ACCESS
This is the only place on the website where money is charged for a service or product. However, we still strive to offer affordable options that creatively align with our value of integrity. We also strive to form diverse collaborations with artists to ensure that unique and important artistic voices are supported in their work.

TRANSPARENCY
We aim to be transparent about every aspect of the store, including the business practices of the companies we use and the bios of the artists we work with. Transparency also creates space for feedback, accountability, mutual learning, and continued striving for a more perfect offering.

CONNECTION
All too often the process of buying and selling creates alienation- alienation from ourselves, each other, our labor, and the earth. We hope to make the store an experience of connection and celebration of Sacred Community.

REGENERATION
Regeneration moves beyond sustainability. It follows the axim, “do no harm” while creating new synergistic opportunities. Rather than perpetuating the status quo, it is a praxis of envisioning and creating new future realities.
